Our recent two day trip on Captain Frank Ursitti's Ranger 85 out of H+M Landing in San Diego saw over 200 yellowfin tuna, yellowtail, dorodo and skippies come flying over the rail. This seasons great fishing shows no signs of letting up and Captain Frank and his crew will get you on the fish and into the action. Day one saw lots on early action on smaller grade yellowtail and skipjack tuna on the kelp paddies. Just what we needed to warm up and dial in before Captain Ursitti puts us on a school of nice yellowfin tuna that wanted to bite. One drift lasted for three hours as the fish stayed with the boat, producing most of our nicer grade tuna for the day. Day two saw slow fishing as we made our way back north to San Diego with a handful on yellowtail being caught on the kelp paddies. The prospects for a fine fall season are all good and the Ranger 85 stills has several two day trips as well a 3 day trip scheduled before heading back to the Channel Islands. Check there website at www.ranger85sportfishing.com for their schedule and to book online.
