Park Hours: 6:00 AM???5:00 PM, Dailey
Boat Dock Closes: 4:00 PM, Dailey
Last Stock: December 6, 2007 ??? 1200 pounds of Trout
Next Stock: Skip week (December 10???14)
Water Temperature: 59??
Water Level: Slowly rising (1 to 2 feet)
TROUT SEASON IS HERE . . . so is the rain. The trout action has been fair to good over the rainy weekend. Best baits have been rainbow power bait, night crawlers and the variety of lures with Thomas buoyant and small gold Kastmasters proving best. Pier #3 and Trout Cove areas have been seeing the best action in the deeper parts of the lake. Some anglers are reporting average size trout from Trout Cove areas with most fish averaging 1 to 2 pounds. The last stock was planted December 6, with another 1200 pounds of rainbows. Next week will be a skip week (December 10???14). Dixon is planting another 1200 pounds for the week of December (17???21).
Bass action was slower this week. Our local anglers reported catching some smaller bass in the 1 to 2-pound range on the small 3 to 4-inch plastics worms. The bass are feeding on the smaller size bait fish. Most of the action has been in the Boat Dock Cove areas and next to Pier #1.
The recent storms should have turned the catfish bite ON!!! Try using cut mackerel or night crawlers for the best action. No anglers have reported in any catfish over the rainy weekend.
Pier #4 is temporarily closed for repairs until further notice.
