5 Largest Catfish Contest Results: 1st place-Kj Gant with a 3 lb. 12 oz. Catfish from lake 3 on mackerel. Kj wins a Coleman camp stove and $20 East County Bait & Tackle gift card.

2nd place-Skyler Sukcharoun 3 lbs. 8 oz. from lake 3 on marshmallows. Skyler wins a 3-person tent and $20 ECBT gift card.

3rd place-Chris White 3 lbs. 7 oz. out of lake 3 on mackerel. Chris wins an Ugly Stick tackle bag and some plastic worms from Anglers Arsenal/Western Plastics.

4th place-Bonnie Maldonado and Jermaine Evans tied for 4th place at 3 lbs. 4 oz. Both win a Mustad Digital Scale and plastics from Anglers Arsenal/Western Plastics.

5th place-Jake Ketmouanesay takes 5th with a 3 lb. 3 oz. Catfish out of lake 4 on shrimp. Jake wins a new fishing pole and plastics from Anglers Arsenal/Western Plastics.

Alex Even landed an impressive Bass out of lake 6 on a senko.

Lake lowdown

This past weekend’s Catfish Opener was well attended with 945 anglers in attendance. Lakes 3 and 4 split 2,000 lbs. of Catfish from Pacific Aquafarms. 20 out of the 40 tagged Catfish were caught and prizes were also awarded for the 5 largest Catfish weighed in over the 2 day event. All species are biting this time of year including a pair of 6 lb.
