TROUT BITE
The unusually cool temperatures for the month of May have kept the trout bite strong. Until the water temperature measures 72-73 degrees, one can expect the Sierra Bows and Lightning to hit on night crawlers and Chartreuse PowerBait. The current surface temperature is 69 degrees.
This week trout were biting at the T-dock and Siesta Cove. A combination of PowerBait and night crawlers is working the best. Keep reeling ‘em in!
FISHING FOR BASS
The bass were biting this weekend! Anglers fishing Cloister Cove and the Campground shoreline reeled in multiple bass at all hours of the day. Drop shot was a proven technique.
CATFISH & PANFISH
Catfish were hitting early on Saturday morning from the T-dock. The first catfish stocking of the season is next week! 2000 lbs. will be stocked in anticipation of the Catfish Opener on May 27th. Read about the event in “Announcements.” Night Fishing (open until midnight) will be Fridays and Saturdays of every weekend from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
CATCHES OF THE WEEK
On Sunday afternoon, Angelica Aquirre reeled in this bass from Cloister Cove using drop-shot. Noah, age 14, used a combination of PowerBait and night crawlers to land this trout! He was fishing on the T-dock.
