Captain Steve Gawitt aboard the Aztec has called in with 8 bluefin tuna in the 90-100lb range.
Tackle recommendations for the one and one day trips are- 2 speed reels with 50-80lb fluorocarbon, 3/0-6/0 circle hooks and a 160 gram flat fall glow in the dark. We do have two speed reels for rent at the office and a full service tackle shop for all your terminal tackle needs.
Don't forget about double half days every day of the week and three quarter day trips to the Coronado islands on the weekends(a valid passport is a required for each person to board).

11/14/2016 2:20pm- The Aztec is now up to 16 bluefin tuna. 10:45am - The Aztec has 10 bluefin off their first drift. Captain Steve is reporting fish up to 100 pounds. A lot of fish are being lost, so make sure you have the right gear. They are recommending 50-80 pound rigs, with 3/0 to 6/0 circle hooks. The Aztec is departing tonight on a 1.5 day trip, and we have trips running all week!...... Read More
