TROUT
The trout bite was ‘wide open’ according to multiple anglers reports! With a stocking last week, 1,500 lbs. stocked this week, and another stocking next week, trout season is far from over!
All typical trout baits and lures are working right now; PowerBait and worms, mini jigs, etc. Target depths of 10-30 feet.
BASS
Plastic worms with a pink color or with red flakes continue to be the bait of choice for bass anglers.
The Lake Jennings Spring Photo Contest is here! Any photos taken at the lake between March-May are eligible for submission.
CATCHES OF THE WEEK
Limits for three! Austin Van Slyke, Austin Curo, and Steve Van Slyke reeled in their limit of trout using red, brown, and green colored Power Worms.
Alex, Allan, and Frank Feranadez from Clairemont caught a total of 8 trout, all before 9 a.m. on Sunday morning! They were fishing with mini jigs off of Eagle Point.
Javes caught his limit of trout by 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning! He was fishing with Rainbow PowerBait by the boat launch ramp.
TIPS AND TRICKS
Best Trout Spots: Hermit Cove buoy line, Eagle Point
Best Trout Lures/Bait: Power Worms Best Bass Spots: Sentry Point Best Bass Lures/Bait: Swimbaits, plastic worms.
Best Catfish Spots: Hermit Cove, Dam buoy line.
Best Catfish Bait: Mackerel, Shrimp Best Pan fish Spot: Half Moon Cove Best Panfish Lures/Bait: Meal worms and night crawlers.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
This year’s Spring Carnival will be next Saturday, April 8th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m! The festivities will include a reappearance of the Kid’s Pond for children under 10, free paddle boating for the whole family, and an egg hunt. 1,700 lbs. of trout will be stocked for this event.
The lake will be open every day for Spring Break from April 7th - 23rd.
