Trout were stocked again on January 12th. A couple of anglers managed to hook up on the day of the stock but the Trout don't usually last very long. Between the Bass, Osprey, Cormorants and Pelicans there is a lot of pressure on them. The Bass bite is a different story. The Bass have come out to feed on the Trout and the fishing has been great. The Bass have been hitting Swim Baits, Crank Baits, Drop Shots and Shiners all over the lake.

Murray ReservoirIt was a good week for Bass fishing at Lake Murray. The Bass are still hunting for Trout and several large Bass were caught on large Trout Swim Baits. Taylor Battaglia pulled in an 8.8 pounder on Saturday in Cowles Bay. There were also nice Bass being hooked from the fishing pier with Ryan Freymiller catching a 5 pounder using Shiners. Murray ReservoirThe Trout stock last week has not been producing very many Trout but the Bass are definitely more active. Large Bass have been coming in on Swim Baits, Shiners, and Jigs out in deep water. Panfish are being caught in 15 to 20 feet of water in San Carlos Bay and Del Cerro Bay. The bait of choice ranges from Red Worms, Meal Worms to Hot Dog skins. There were no Catfish reported this week. ...... Read More
