Bass fishing was very good last week, despite the cooler air temps. we experienced. Most of the fish are up in 2' to 10' of water and have been biting a variety of baits. Senkos, flukes, ika's, and rip baits, drop shot, jigs, etc. all produced. Most fish have been males in 11b. to 31b. range. The lakes bluegill population has yet to show, but should once the water hits around 67 degrees or more. There was a handful of crappie checked in at the marina, most notably was Anthony Noy of La Mesa. Noy had 3 slabs between 2 and 3 lbs. this past Sunday morning, which all fell for a 1/32oz white jig, tipped with a nibble. Catfish were M.I.A last week.

Fly-lined plastics, jigs, Texas rigs, drop shot, all produced good numbers. There were a handful of crappie caught as well, though information on the slabs was closely guarded. Red ear...... Read More
