Bluegill action came up a notch or two last week, as the panfish begin to spawn.
Several trophy size gill's were reported to the concession last week, led by David Lewis of Chula Vista. Lewis used a whole nightcrawler to subdue a 3.35lber, just .03lbs off the recently set lake record. Several other anglers brought in 2 lb. plus fish as well. The bass bite still going strong, with big fish honors going to Chris Giese of Santee who boated a 6.6 largie on a senko. The largemouth are scattered from 2' to 30' in the water column and many anglers having 10 to 30 fish days on senkos. flukes, drop shot worms, rip baits, and small swim baits.

San Vicente ReservoirNo big change here, bass fishing is still good all over the lake on fly-lined plastics, small swimbaits, and rip baits. Most fish are in the 1 lb to 21b range, with the occasional 4 to 5Ibler showing as well. The large mouth have been scattered from 2' to 30' water column, and are in all stages of the spawn.
