The Chubasco 2 had a nice half day trip today with a mix of rockfish, whitefish, sculpin, bass and even a keeper halibut. There seems to be a few halibut around as we have caught a few everyday this week. The Chubasco 2 is chartered tomorrow but will resume its 10am-4pm half day trips this upcoming Tuesday the 15th of May. Fishing for surface fish such as yellowtail, bonito and barracuda could happen any day so if your coming on a trip make sure to bring some gear to fish the bottom as well as the suface. If you do not own gear we have plenty to rent in the office before you depart for your trip. Who knows, maybe you will be the first to catch a yellowtail out of the new Oceanside Sea Center.
