Our annual 2 day trip aboard the PACIFIC DAWN had 17 anxious anglers waiting at the dock with great expectations of things to come. We climed aboard shortly after 9pm and were soon under way to the bait tanks to load up with a very nice mix of anchovies and sardines. Capt Dustin proceeded to give us our safety briefing and things to expect for the next couple days. We held the raffle after the briefing with everyone walking away with some great proucts. We had some SFR and FISHWORKS T-shirts. We also gave some trolling lures from CATCHY TACKLE and also some SEAGUAR FLOUROCARBON.
We started early on the troll with not action for the first hour, shortly after the first rotation was "fired" we spotted some fish boiling on the surface. Capt Apollo had us bring in the trollers and we slid up on the school. We managed to get 3 nice Bluefin out of the stop and they soon went away and we strated out again. It wasn't long and we were stopping on more boiling fish and picking up a few more bluefin. We did manage on Dorado on the troll the first morning. Just as lunch was being served, we heard that yell "HOOK-UP", this time we had Albacore under us and managed to get 4 of them. A few minutes later we had another jig strike and managed 2 more Albacore. We picked and scratched the rest of the day. We also had the seiners all around us and wrapping fish constantly around us and made the fish very spooked. On day two we only had two stops all day, one for 4 bluefin and 1 skipjack and one more stop for 1 Dorado. My compliments to Chef Jimmy for putting on his classic rock over the PA system for our enjoyment, it was great to hook-up and here "Another One Bites the Dust" playing as a couple of us hooked up. I would like to thank the crew for working hard to put us on as many fish as possible and you humour to keep us going. Congrats to Lonnie and Angel for winning each days jackpot.
