Trout Season is this weekend! Wrights Rainbows of Idaho will be stocking our lake once again this year. Stockings will occur either weekly or biweekly reaching a total of 20,000 lbs. for the season. The Trout Opener is November 16th and 2,500 lbs. has been stocked for the event.
Saturday, November 10th was New Moon Fishing. The lake was open 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Hope you made it! We saw some bluegill around the dock and a little later in the afternoon, one angler caught a beautiful 12-inch bluegill in Cloister Cove on nightcrawlers. Another lucky angler reeled in an 8.5 lb. catfish using chicken liver.
Bass are biting on drop shot purple worms in Cloister Cove and Sentry Point. Seven bass were caught using watermelon roboworms. One angler caught a nice 5 lb. bass on nightcrawlers near the boat dock.
Catfish were hooked using shrimp for bait in Hermit Cove.
If you are here early, you might be lucky enough to spot the bald eagle. Thanks to Mike Chapin Photography for photos of him in Cloister Cove.
The lake is going to be open Thanksgiving Day from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Come on out to the lake for the holiday with family and friends. Have a picnic, go for a hike. Look at the wildlife for a nice, relaxing and "thankful" day!
Boats are available on a first come, first serve basis. We have motorboats, rowboats, kayaks, and paddle boats for rent. Pick your pleasure or you're welcome to launch your own.
Bring the whole family on your next weekend getaway!
