The trout bite is improving and depending on how much rain the next system brings we could see things returning to normal as early as the end of the week. Big trout of the week belonged to Tom Burley of Indio, Ca. and weighed 7.70#. Mr. Burley's fish was caught on an inflated night-crawler in Willow Cove. Other notable catches included Robert Farris's 7.40# and Robert Phillip's 5.0# trout. The southern shore is out performing it's northern counterpart and yellow mouse-tails, power-eggs, and inflated night-crawlers, are the top baits.

The bass are beginning to stir after a long winter hiatus. Largemouth Bass can be found around structure and respond well to frogs, crawdads, and dark colored plastics.

Crappie have been suspended deep near the West Buoy Line. They are most often caught using finger jigs or live golden shiners.

Lake Wohlford cats prefer cut mackerel or chicken liver. Crappie have been...... Read More
