It was another good week of bass fishing, with some anglers reporting up to 30 a day for their efforts. Fly-lined plastics, jigs, Texas rigs, and drop shot all produced. There was a 10.2 pound caught in a tournament this last Saturday, but most of the largies have been males in the 1lb to 3lb range. There were some redear caught this week before last, but no panfish, or catfish were reported to the concession this week.

San Vicente ReservoirSanta Ana conditions slowed the wide open bass bite of last week, but as of this Sunday the fishing was starting to pick up once again. There are beds showing up all over the lake, but no large fish were reported to the concession. Saint Patrick’s Day brought out David Lewis and his son, from Chula Vista, CA. San Vicente ReservoirDespite cool air temps, the bass bite here went off the charts as of last Thursday. Anglers reported up to 40 largies fishing fly-lined plastics, jigs, small swimsuits, etc. The backs of coves have been producing the best, although you can catch them just about anywhere at the moment.
