Trout Season at Lake Poway is almost here! Trout season starts on Friday, November 7. The gates will open at 5:30 am on Opening day so set your clocks. That's right-- This year we are starting on a Friday. In previous years we have started the season on a Wednesday but this year we are getting our opening day stock on Wednesday and we want them to get acclimated for a couple of days. Opening stock is 4,000 pounds of those great fighting, tail-walking trout from Chaulk Mound Trout Ranch in Nebraska. About half of this stock will be trophy size over 7 pounds so start rigging those poles! Also, a reminder--since we are starting on a Friday, we will be closed for boating and fishing on Wednesday, November 5 and Thursday, November 6. The stock schedule for the season is attached.
