Hello from Lake Jennings! Trout season starts Friday. Mount Lassen will stock every week for 24 weeks thereafter. The bass seem to know that trout are on their way because a swimbaiter caught 7 on Friday. That is not to say that the Ikas and Senkos stopped catching bass. They still produced numbers but with the bright moon the bite was better in the PM. Cats continue to prowl the deeps at the buoy line.

Best Trout Spots: None yet.

Best Trout Lures/Bait: None yet.

Best Catfish Spots: The dam buoy line.

Best Catfish Bait: Mackerel. Use scent liberally.

Best Bass Spots: Dawn and dusk tight on the bank.

Best Bass Lures/Bait: Ikas and Senkos.

Notables: Sun., Paul Cannon, Escondido 22-0 blue cat, mackerel, rock quarry.

Prognosis: Our first Mt. Lassen trout plant will be on Oct. 24th at 8:30 AM. If you have never seen a plant, you're invited to come watch. Water Temperature: 72-73 degrees.

Current Schedule: We will be open Friday and Saturday from 6:30 a.m. ??? 6:45 p.m. and Sunday from

Senko's and Bass Assassins continue to do well and still no top water action. The fish are sticking to their pattern of moving deeper until evening. Catfish...... Read More
