Lower Otay is open for fishing and general boating on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday only, from one-half hour before sunrise to sunset. Iron Ranger Pay Stations are available to purchase permits (please bring exact change) or purchase from staff on the dock.

Otay is not renting boats during the winter (October 29, November, December and January), but will remain open on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays for shore fishing and private boats.

Kayaks are permitted Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday only.

The fish scores for the week are as follows: 196 permits checked 15 bass kept, 299 bass released, 409 Bluegill, 19 Channel Cats, 1 Blue Cat (35 pounds). The water temp is 74 degrees. The launch reamp is in excellent condition. The water leve is 15.5 feet below captacity.
