Opening day of trout season is slated for Saturday December the 14th. We will re-open for weekday fishing at that time.

Catfish are being caught throughout the lake. Lake Wohlford cats prefer cut mackerel or chicken liver. Drop by the ranger station to pick up a dough-bait recipe that works well for both catfish and carp.

Largemouth Bass can be found lurking around structure. Bass respond well to crawdads, frogs, and dark colored plastics.

Crappie prefer the cover of shade and bite best before the sun comes up. They are most often caught on finger jigs or live golden shiners.
