Bass fishing has been good for some. It turns out jigging has been the best technique for numbers. One of our regulars that wants to stay anonymous wondered why he had the lake to himself. He said he and his buddy had 29 fish on Saturday and came back on Sunday. Not many people on the lake these days so if you like a clam lake with good fishing we are open, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Oaty is closed the second Wednesday of each month. Bass fishing has been okay, some are reporting getting skunked but others have been fishing deep and doing well catching larger fish on jigs. Bass fishing has been picking up again after the windy weather. Some of the bass fishermen have been reporting that they are catching catfish by mistake. Hearing through the grape vine that one guy using spoons caught some bass, but then started landing some good catfish.
