  • Stocking: The lake was stocked with 1,500 lbs. of trout last week. Our next trout stocking of 2,000 lbs. will be the week of December 23rd.
  • What's the catch? The t-dock is flush with Bluegill. Fishermen are using garlic nightcrawlers to reel them in. There have been reports of good bass fishing along Cactus Patch shoreline just west of the Hermit Cove buoy line. Trout was being caught along the northeast shoreline of Hermit Cove in the mornings.
  • Fishing Tip: Some of our trout fisherman have had success using a combo of Berkley Powerbait and nightcrawlers. The Powerbait attracts the trout with scent and color; the nightcrawlers trigger their predatory instincts with movement.    
  • Conditions: The water temperature is currently 63 degrees. Helix Water District has been adding water to the lake for the past couple of weeks. Be aware of changing shorelines. 
  • Just a reminder to please be mindful when you cast from the shoreline. The fishing line gets caught in our trees and shrubs, which in turn catches owls, birds, and other critters. If you see an animal in distress on our property, please notify the lake staff immediately. Thank you for your cooperation! 
  • Winter Break Lake Hours: We will be open DAILY for boating and fishing 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. between December 20th and January 5th. The lake will be closed on Christmas Day, but fishing from the campground shoreline is available.
  • FREE boat launch Tuesdays! Boat launches will be free on December 24th and 31st. 
  • New Moon Fishing is Saturday, December 28th. The lake will be open 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Full size lanterns required after 5:00 p.m.
