- Stocking: The lake was stocked with 1500 lbs. of trout from Wright's Rainbows the week of February 24th with an additional bonus stock of 100 lbs. from the Department of Fish & Wildlife. The next stocking will be the week of March 9th.
- Free Boat Launch: Don't be afraid! Make Friday the 13th your lucky day and launch your boat for free. Boat launches are FREE on Friday, March 13th!
- Springing Forward! As the days become longer, so do the operating hours at the lake. Beginning Friday, March 13th, the lake will be open 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
- New Moon Fishing: On Saturday, March 21st the lake will be open until 10:00 p.m. for fishing.Full sized lanterns are required. Bundle up and enjoy a little night fishing!
- What's the catch? Spring has sprung and bass are spawning! Anglers are catching bass in Sentry Cove, Half Moon Cove, and at the t-dock with plastic worms, swim baits, and shiners. Hermit Cove buoy line and Cactus Patch at 30-40 foot depths were the best place for trout this weekend. Anglers were using power worms and powerbait. The trout bite should pick up with the partly cloudy skies next weekend and upcoming stock. Bluegill and Redear were still hanging around in Cloister Cove this weekend. We recommend fishing for panfish no more than 20 ft. from shore.
- Conditions: The water temperature is 61 degrees. The district is currently filling the lake 15 million gallons a day until it's full. Be aware of changing shorelines. For an up-to-date weather forecast in Lakeside click HERE.
- WE'RE HIRING! Love the lake as much as we do? We're looking for volunteer Park Hosts to live and work in our campground. Exchange a minimum of 20 hours of labor per week (includes weekends and holidays) for a campsite that includes water and electricity. Park Hosts must have their own RV and be willing to live in the campground. We're also hiring Dockhands to provide excellent customer service to lake visitors and maintain our boat rental fleet. Dockhands work weekends and holidays at the lake. Previous experience preferred, but we'll train the right person to join our team! For more information or to apply, please visit Helix Water District's job site.
- We love receiving pictures from our fishermen and guests! If you have a picture you'd like to share, please email them to ranger@lakejennings.org and we may feature them in our next lake newsletter or on social media.
