The bass bite remains consistent with many reports of fish being caught on soft plastic lures such as flukes and senkos. Popular spots include the east shore of Lake 5 and the north shore of Lake 1. The bluegill have been biting on mealworms and waxworms. Popular spots include the southwest corner of Lake 5 and the south shore of Lake 4 near the dock. The catfish have been biting on shrimp and chicken liver. Popular spots include the west side of Lake 3 near the point of the southwest corner of Lake 2. Join us September 10, 2020 at 5 PM to beat the heat and enjoy a relaxing evening of fishing. Annual Parking/Fishing passes are not valid. No California State License is needed, just a Santee Lakes daily permit. Lakes 1 through 4 only. 5 PM to 11:30 PM. A lantern and/or headlight is required, radios will not be permitted, and please remember to pick up your trash. Night fishing will occur the second and fourth Thursday of September. Unfortunately we have noticed an increase in trash scattered throughout the park after our night fishing events. Let's all do our part in cleaning up so we can continue to throw these events for the community! Dispose of your trash in one of the many nearby trash receptacles and if you need assistance, flag down one of our rangers.
