Greetings from Lake Cuyamaca: We will be stocking this week. Mojave D.F.G. is scheduled to bring 2,000 lbs of trout this week. This added to the inventory will increase the action. Larger trout are still showing up on most stringers. Come on up and get in on the action!! The bait anglers are experiencing limit style action all over the lake. Trolling is picking up with Rooster Tails and Panther Martins providing action. The inventory of trout is still in the anglers favor.?? The Crappie are making a strong showing around the boat dock.????

Trout Bait: 12-24 inch leader off the bottom inflated night crawler smeared with scent, Power Bait,?? salmon eggs.???? (Pautzkes Krill gel or liquid Krill scent)
Best Trout Lures:?? Gold Panther Martins and Rooster Tails. Use scent!?? (Krill gel works best)
Best Trout Spots: Lone Pine, Chambers Park, Tee Dock.
Notable: Cowboy Dave, Lakeside, 5lbs Rainbow, night crawler, Chambers?? Park Jetty. Rick Jeffrier, El Centro, 3lbs 12oz Rainbow, mini jig, North Shore. Janine Jangkeit, Carlsbad, 3lbs 8oz "Thunder Trout", bait, Secret spot. Michel Lowe, Oceanside, 2lbs 12oz Rainbow, power bait, Lone Pine. James Rios, San Diego, 2lbs 8oz Rainbow, power bait, Fox Hole. Riley Schultz, (age 12) Bonita, 2lbs 8oz Rainbow, power bait/night crawler, boat.?? ( lots of 2+lbs trout)
Fly Fishing:??With some run off try Azalea creek feeding into the south end it should have some fish holding or staging at the mouth. Try a?? Black Wooly Bugger, Olive Matuka, Egg Sucking Leach, slow retrieve.
Nature Walk: The guided walk will be conducted by Clint Powell April 1, 2007.The trail is open for daily use. 3 1/2 miles around the lake.
Free Fishing Class Saturday at 10:AM: ?? Ranger Willard?? will teach??tried and true trout techniques using?? bait, tube jigs and lures for trout.??
Prognosis:!!?? With a added 2,000 lbs stocked this week from D.F.G., these are the jumpers and runners we have so much fun with. The water temp near perfect they will be feeding, this combined with a?? (huge inventory) of trout its time to come up and catch your limit.. The bigger trout are working the shore lines. "Lighting" and "Thunder" could be on the end of your line.?? Try trolling with gold Panther Martins and Rooster Tails. With water temps on the rise start looking for the pre spawn bass.?? Water?? surface temp 56-60deg. Please feel free to ask our staff any questions you may have.
