Greetings from Lake Cuyamaca:??With the warming weather the trout bite has busted wide open this week. Larger trout are seen on most stringers. Come on up and get in on the action!! The bait anglers have experienced limit style action all over the lake. Trolling is picking up with Rooster Tails and Panther Martins providing action. The inventory of trout is still in the anglers favor.?? The Crappie are making a strong showing around the boat dock.????!!!!?? "Alpers Trout" will be stocked in early April !!!??

Trout Bait: 12-24 inch leader off the bottom inflated night crawler smeared with scent, Power Bait,?? salmon eggs.???? (Pautzkes Krill gel or liquid Krill scent)??
Best Trout Lures:?? Gold Panther Martins and Rooster Tails. Use scent!?? (Krill gel works best)??
Best Trout Spots: Lone Pine, Chambers Park, Tee Dock.

Fly Fishing:??With some run off try Azalea creek feeding into the south end it should have some fish holding or staging at the mouth. Try a?? Black Wooly Bugger, Olive Matuka, Egg Sucking Leach, slow retrieve.
Nature Walk: The guided walk will be conducted by Clint Powell April 1, 2007.The trail is open for daily use. 3 1/2 miles around the lake.
Free Fishing Class Saturday at 10:AM:?? Ranger Charlie?? will teach??tried and true trout techniques using?? bait, tube jigs and lures for trout.??
Prognosis:!! The water temp is perfect for the trout so they are feeding, this combined with a?? (huge inventory) of trout its time to come up and catch your limit.. The bigger trout are working the shore lines. "Lighting" and "Thunder" could be on the end of your line.?? Try trolling with gold Panther Martins and Rooster Tails. With water temps on the rise start looking for the pre spawn bass.?? Water Temp 56-64 deg. Please feel free to ask our staff any questions you may have.??
