THE LAKE IS OPEN!
The new stay at home order has frozen camping reservations through January 15th, but the lake will still be open for boating, fishing and picnicking with members of your shared household.
There is no gathering or boating with anyone outside your household permitted.
Please remember to wear your masks, social distance, and be patient with staff/other visitors.

  • Stocking:  Another 1,500 lbs. of trout will added to the lake this week bringing our total stock to 7,000 lbs. of trout this season. Stocking will be biweekly throughout the season to reach a total of 19,000 lbs.
  • What's the catch? Trout were biting in Hermit Cove and Eagle Cove on Friday but seemed to move deeper as the weekend progressed. Mini jigs, Powerbait, and Powerworms were doing the trick. Using natural colored jigs in brown and green is your best bet! The bass bite has slowed, but with a little patience and the right tackle you should be able to entice a bite or two. The best spots for bass this weekend were the southeast part of the lake from Siesta Point to the buoy line. They were biting on Rapala lures and Zoom Tiny Fluke. Catfish were biting in Siesta Cove and the shoreline below the bait shop on nightcrawlers and mackerel.
  • Limits: Please be aware that there is a limit of 5 trout per person as mandated by the California Dept. of Fish and Wildlife.
  • New Year's Day: The lake will be open on Friday, January 1st, 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • MLK Jr. Day: On Monday, January 18th, the lake will be open for fishing and boating from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Conditions: The current water temperature is 67 degrees. For an updated weather report in Lakeside this weekend, click HERE.
  • We're HIRING! We're looking for a Volunteer Park Host or two to live and work in our campground. Exchange a minimum of 20 hours of labor per week (including weekends and holidays) for a campsite with water, sewer, and electricity. For more information, click HERE.
  • We love receiving pictures from our fishermen and campers! If you have a picture to share, please send it to ranger@lakejennings.org and we may feature it in our newsletter or social media pages.
