The bass and catfish bite has been good off the shoreline. Nicholas Va on Thursday February 11th caught the new Lake Poway Bass Record from the north shore. The bass weighed 12 lb. 8 oz (see photo). Catfish can be caught with mackerel or nightcrawlers and are usually found by Jump Off Point or further along to Boulder Bay.
The lake will be stocked again this following Thursday, February 25th with 1,500 lbs. of Rainbow Trout. The best baits for trout this season have been mini jigs (natural colored or yellow / orange), and power bait.
Boating Closed - Due to damage sustained during a recent windstorm, the boat dock has remained temporarily closed and boats are not available for rent. Please check back for updated information.
When you stop by concessions to buy your permit keep a 6 ft. distance when in line and adhere to the maximum occupancy for the store. Ask about the best spots and baits. They have up to the minute information.
