Winter-like weather has kept most of the bass population in deeper water. There have been some largemouth on the bank, but most of these are bucks in the 1-1.5 lb. range. The better fish for the most part have been in the 20’ to 30’ of water. Finesse presentation of all types produced both shallow and deep. Once again these was a handful of bluegill taken by shore angler sin the aqueduct arm of the lake. Catfish went unreported to the concession last week.

Bass Bite Has Been Slowly Improving
San Vicente ReservoirThe bass bite has been slowly improving, as the water temps begin to rise. There’s been a lot of bucks causing the bank, but have been reluctant to bite. Most fish have been coming out of 20’ to 25’ of water. Finesse techniques worked well for the deeper fish.
