Largemouth Bass are patrolling the shallows but most are more interested in making and protecting beds than feeding. The bass can be caught using swimbaits, crawdads, or dark colored plastics

The final trout plant of the season went in Wednesday. Trout action should remain good until early May. Trout are being caught west of Senior Shoreline and are hitting inflated nightcrawlers and mice tails.

There continues to be a run on big cats. Kyle Walker of Los Angeles caught a 20.70# catfish on cut mackerel in Oakvale Cove. Lake Wohlford cats prefer mackerel or chicken liver. Stop by the ranger station for a dough-bait recipe that works well on both catfish and carp.
