The bass and bluegill along with the crappie and catfish are being caught back in coves. One fisherman reported 3 nice catfish all about 4 pounds using crawdads.

“Summit Bass Anglers” held a small tournament this past week and did very well, the bass were small averaging 2-2.5 pound. It was an early mooring bite and they were throwing flipping hogs and frogs. Darryl Bagaison, a kayak tournament fisherman caught 17 bass in three days, the biggest weight in at a whopping 5 pounds all the others averages about 2 pounds. He was fishing in Alvarado Cove using watermelon with black flake. Senko and drop shooting a plastic worm MM2. A report came in saying he caught 13 Bluegill. Get your fishing poles out and come on down to Lake Murray.
