Lower Otay is open for fishing and general boating on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday only, from one-half hour before sunrise to sunset. Iron Ranger Pay Stations and an electronic pay station are available to purchase permits (please bring exact change for the iron ranger) as well as permit sales from the boat dock. For permit prices please see Permits & Fees (daily).

Otay rents motorboats, rowboats and kayaks on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Kayaks are permitted Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday only.

We checked 211 permits for 14 (bass kept), and 154 bass (released), 223 bluegill, 12 channel cats, 1 blue cat, 1 carp.

We had one bass reported at 9.43 pounds. A bluegill at .75 pounds. A channel cat at 7.95 pounds. And finally, a blue cat at 12.65 pounds.

Barrett is now closed to fishing until May 2, 2009, when it will reopen on a Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday schedule.
