Top water in the early morning has been off an on with the afternoon bite getting better for top water bass fishing. Bass are moving into the tullies and tight up against the banks during the hottest part of the day. The rock pile has been the hotspot this past week for dropshot. Crappie reports have been steady all week. Jigs being the bait of choice. The bluegill bite is really good as well as the size. The second Wednesday of the month is extra closure for Lower Otay. The lake will be closed this Wednesday,

Lower Otay ReservoirGood top water bass bite in the early morning and late evenings. Tight to the bank and the tules in the heat of the day. The bluegill bite has been fantastic. It was an off year for bluegill fishing at Otay because of the water level. Their normal coves are gone, so they move to other places. They are about 20 feet off shore and 10-20 feet deep moving into the shallows to feet. ...... Read More
