Fisheries Survey at Chollas Lake
On Thursday evening, June 10, Chollas Lake Senior Park Ranger Carey Goldstein joined California Department of Fish and Wildlife biologists and interns for the bi-annual Fisheries Survey at Chollas Lake .
The purpose of the survey is to look at the number of fish in the lake as well as which species are present and the age ranges of each species. The team measures, weighs, and records the fish and then releases them back into the water. They recorded 77 fish and the species found were bluegill, large mouth bass, green sunfish, blue catfish, and carp.
A report from CDFW with statistics, measurements, and other information will be shared in the coming months.
