The trout bite has been excellent all this past week with early morning limits coming out of Senior Shoreline among other places. Big fish of the week belonged to Alex Mateo of San Marcos who caught an 8.80# trout on Senior Shore using salmon/ peach powerbait. Other notable catches included Erin Zamudio’s 8.40# and Franco Gonzalez’s 8.00# Top baits include mice-tails, mini-jigs, and inflated nightcrawlers.
The Crappie have begun to spawn and as a result are much more accessible from shore as well as boats. Crappie bite mini-jigs and live golden shiners.
Largemouth bass are becoming increasingly active patrolling the reed lines or lurking near structure waiting to ambush their pray. They respond well to crawdads or dark colored plastics.

Jose Nunez of Valley Center had the biggest fish of the last couple of weeks with his 9.20# trout caught on rainbow powerbait on Senior Shoreline Mini-jigs, inflated nightcrawlers, and rainbow powerbait have been the top baits. Catfish can be found throughout the lake but particularly near the west...... Read More
