  • Stocking: The lake was stocked with 1,500 pounds of trout the week of March 7th. The next stocking is this week where another 2,000 pounds of trout will go into the lake. The lake has been stocked with 15,000 pounds of trout so far this season. For a complete stocking schedule, click HERE.
  • What's the catch? The past couple of weekends the trout bite has taken a back seat to the bass, but they were back this weekend with anglers reporting bites in Hermit Cove, Eagle Point, and off the campground shoreline. With the extended weekend hours, the trout bite should also pick up around sunset. Trout rely less on their vision at night so if fishing the sunset bite, make sure to use live bait like nightcrawlers as the movement of the worm will create vibrations in the water that will attract the trout. Spinners and topwater lures will also work for this purpose. Stinky powerbait like garlic or salmon egg will also attract trout during the darker hours of the day. Bass were biting all over the lake on shiners and plastics again. No reports of catfish bite, but join us on April 2nd for New Moon fishing. With the temps starting to warm up, catfish will become more active! Don't forget to send us pics of your catch! You can tag us @lakejennings on social media or email them to ranger@lakejennings.org.
