Hello from Lake Miramar in Scripps Ranch, San Diego. The weather was rainy over the weekend but that didn’t keep the fishermen away. Good reports coming out of the pre spawn time of year. Plastics with drop shot are still the best thing going. Swimbaits and live crawdads also reported doing well. Catfish have been doing well in deeper water. Mackerel is reported working best. The water temperature is rising fast this week with warm weather going on most of the week. The bass beds are easy to see so we are definitely in the pre spawn which is making for excellent fishing. The bass bite is really heating up

The bass bite is really heating up. You can start to see the nests in about 15 to 20 feet of water. A few 6 pounders were reported this week with the margarita mutilator leading the charge, swim bait and night crawlers were also reported doing the job.
