The Bluefin fishing has been tough over the past few days but that certainly isn't for lack of trying. Much of the fleet has still been seeing lots fish in the area but getting them to bite is another story. For now we are going to continue at it and see what changes for us in the future.
The Pacifica called in early this morning with 33 Bluefin weighing between 30-80 pounds to start of the first day of their 3 Day trip. Captain Andrew reported that they were getting bites on the jigs but it was hit or miss on the hookup ratio. Those who were able to key-in on the very subtle bites and keep their jig in the zone were the ones able to get a bite and get the fish to stick.
The San Diego ended their Full Day today with 8 Bluefin weighing between 100-180 pounds for their 28 anglers.
The Sea Watch wrapped up their Full Day with 1 Bluefin weighing 180 pounds. The Sea Watch's Full Day trip tomorrow is a definite run! Don't miss your chance to grab a spot for a light load Bluefin trip>
Inshore
Last nights Twilight trip ended with 61 Calico Bass and over 100 released with 14 rockfish and 1 Yellowtail weighing around 35 pounds for their 46 anglers. The Twilight is a great chance to get out on the water after work and take your shot at a big home-guard Yellowtail! The Twilight runs every week from Wednesday - Sunday.
This morning's AM Half Day trip caught 135 Calico Bass, 5 rockfish and 4 Sculpin for their 45 anglers. The inshore fishing over the past month has been spectacular with a variety of species making an appearance. With the Bluefin going through one of their mood cycles now is great time to come out and see what our local fishing has to offer.
