The third and final catfish plant in July is slated for next week. They are catching catfish currently in Boat Dock Cove, Senior Shoreline, and the west buoy line. Lake Wohlford cats prefer cut mackerel or chicken liver. Stop by the Ranger Station for a dough-bait recipe that works well for either catfish or carp.

Crappie are being caught in decent numbers in the vicinity of Bass Point, at the Crappie Float, and by boaters trolling or drifting for them. Crappie respond best to mini-jigs or live golden shiners and bite best in the early mornings or late afternoons.

Small to medium sized Largemouth Bass are being caught. The bass lurk around structure. They will chase shad raps, crawdads, or dark colored plastics.
