Trout: Stocking schedule for the 2023-2024 Trout Season is finalized! Opening day will be December 1st, 2023, the lake will be stocked with 2,000 lbs. of Rainbow Trout. See stocking schedule for future dates.  

Catfish: Catfish bite continues to be the most consistent fish to target at Lake Poway. Every week anglers fishing off both the shoreline and boats have luck. Recommended baits for targeting this fish are mackerel, chicken liver, and stink baits. Hot spots were the Fishing Pier, Buoy Line, and the Beach.

Bass: Recommended baits are night crawlers, creature jigs, and plastic worms. Hot spots for the week were Fishing Pier and Jump off Point.

Angler of the Month: Weigh in your largest caught fish at the boat dock (dock scale must be used by city staff). Prizes will be given away each month in the following categories: Bass, Catfish, and Trout.  Prizes include Two Fishing Permits and a Full Day Motorboat.
