Stocking: Another 1, 500 pounds of Rainbow Trout from Idaho was stocked last week. DFW dropped 700 pounds last week as well! The next stocking will be the week of Christmas. We will stock trout every other week through April. Follow our Instagram feed for the most updated info regarding trout stocking.

What’s the Catch? With 2,200 pounds of trout in the lake last weekend, we had a ton of action! The trout were hitting on mini jigs and Powerbait mostly in yellow and rainbow colors. Any Powerbait in garlic or salmon egg varieties are going to hook ‘em in our lake. Hookup baits in browns/gold were also effective. Cloister, Siesta, and Hermit Coves saw the most action. The bass bite was on fire this weekend too especially by boat. Shadow and Half Moon Cove were the most active. Reports were that shiners were the way to go. We saw some catfish being pulled this weekend too! Looking to see more cats when night fishing starts up again in January. Garlic shrimp, mackerel, and chicken livers are all good baits for catfish. The t-dock and Siesta Cove are good areas if you’re looking to hook a catfish.

Conditions: The water temperature is just under 65 degrees. The district started to refill the lake early this month at approximately 20 million gallons a day. The fill should conclude by the end of the month. The sun is rising at 6:42 a.m. and setting at 4:43 p.m.
