Another awesome catch from the reopener! We stocked lakes 2 and 4 last week with 500 lbs. of rainbow trout in each. The trout bite has been consistent and there are still good sized trout being caught from when we stocked for the reopener. There has been a lot of rainy weather recently with a lot more on the horizon, however, it looks like all of Saturday and the morning of Sunday will be cloudy with little chance of rain. There's a chance to get some fishing in this weekend while staying dry before a solid stretch of rainy days! The baits that are working best for trout include powerbait, nightcrawlers, and mini jigs such as rooster tails, kastmasters, or rat tails. Our next stock will be on February 9th.

The bass bite is very slow currently. Jerkbaits, dropshot worms, and swimbaits are some good options right now since the water temperature is cold. Keep your expectations low with the bass but there is the occasional report of one being caught. The water has also gotten murkier recently with water visibility around 2-3 ft so keep that in mind.

Lake Lowdown

Average Water Temperature: 60°F

Water Clarity: 2-3 Feet
