Bass Fishing bite has ticked up. If you're targeting bass then spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, and crankbaits will be your best bet.
Good news, we're stocking catfish this morning! We are splitting 1,000 lbs. between lakes 3 and 4. The bite has been consistent which has made for a very good start to catfish season. Anglers have seen the most success using stink bait, mackerel, shrimp, and nightcrawlers.
If you have kids and they like to fish, or even if they haven't fished before, the Santee firefighters fishing derby is on June 29th and could be an awesome opportunity for them to get outside and have some outdoors fun! The derby will be taking place between 6:00AM and 11:00AM. Register online at SanteeFirefighters.org or register at the booth on the 29th. Loaner poles are available upon request as long as a valid I.D. is providable.
Our first Night Fishing event will be taking place on June 13th. Night fishing is from 5:00PM - 11:30PM. Please bring a lantern so you have a light source, and please don't bring any loud speakers out of consideration towards our neighbors! We hope to see you here!
