How's it going everybody! We have officially switched gears into trout season! The spotlight is on Elijah (top) and Oliver (bottom) both pictured above who scored big during our trout opener weekend! We stocked 3,000 lbs. of both rainbow and lightning trout between lakes 2,3,4, and 7. There was solid action over the weekend and the bite is going strong into the middle of the week. Baits that are working well include powerbait, salmon eggs, or mini jigs such as a kastmaster or roostertail. Our next trout stock will be on the 14th and we will be stocking 1,000 lbs. If you are still fishing for catfish your best bet will be to use some stinkbait, mackerel, night crawlers, or shrimp.
The bass bite is slowing down a touch but anglers have still been finding success, like the 6lb. bass that was caught this last weekend! Definitely recommend targeting the early morning or late afternoon windows for the best results. Some baits that have been seeing success have been crankbaits, topwater baits, jerkbaits, dropshots, and nightcrawlers.
