SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 24TH IS THE BIG DAY HERE AT THE LAKE THE ORVILLE P. BALL MEMORIAL "FISHIN IN THE PINES" KID'S DERBY WILL BE TAKING PLACE. LOTS OF GOOD TROUT FISHING, FREE LUNCH AND GREAT PRIZES COME ON UP AND SPEND THE DAY IN THE MOUNTAINS.

JESS RANCH STOCKED 1,700 POUNDS OF 2 TO 4 POUND TROUT AND DFG STOCKED 1,200 POUNDS OF 1 1/2 POUNDERS AND THREW IN SOME NICE TROPHY SIZE TROUT AS WELL.

The week day fishermen have not been checking in with their catches. We know they are catching because the fish cleaning stations are being used but they are not stopping at the tackle shop to show off their catches.

Nancy Gaudette of El Cajon caught a 2 1/2 lb trout and a 2 pound trout using Powerbait dipped in garlic. Nancy is contributing 2 bicycles this year at the Derby in memory of her son Jose. Way to go Nancy.
