The trout have been biting good, ranging in size from ? lb. to 2 lbs. They are hitting off the launch ramp and picnic beach. Largemouth bass action has been fair and are running between 1 lb. to 4 lbs. The Bluegill and Catfish bite was slow, while the Crappie was timid at best. Fishing was fair to good this week at Lower Otay Reservoir, 18.5 lb. catfish was caught.

A catfish was the big fish at 18.5 lbs., it was caught by the dam. The bass bite was also good and most fish averaged between 1.5 lbs. to 2 lbs. Two bass around 5 lbs. were caught at Otay Arm and Harveys Arm. 700 lbs. of trout were planted last Tuesday, January 3rd by DFG. The trout are biting off of Picnic Beach and the launch ramp.
