Lake Conditions: Surface temp. is 70.3 and 65.7 @ 20 ft. There's warmer water in the coves and shallow end of lake.
Water Clarity: Water visibility is to 3' to 5'

. ** IMPORTANT NOTE** There are currently no state fishing licenses available in Lake Morena so be sure you acquire one before you arrive.

Trout: The trout are still about but mostly around Paradise cove in about 10ft of water. Using Power bait Mac Mitchel from Spring Valley pulled in a 9lb 5oz stringer with the largest being 3 lb 8 oz. and his partner Randy Minniear of Campo was able to land 7 lbs 8 oz for the day in Paradise. Ian Walgast from San Diego fooled some trout along with some whiskers using power bait. Young Mr. Max Smith brought in a very nice 2 lber on night crawlers.

Bass: The Bass have been very responsive these past few weeks. Ryan White from Campo snatched a 6 lb 4 ozer with swim bait. Jerome Kolodge, San Diego, used a rapala near Pumphouse cove to bamboozle his 6 lb 8 oz large mouth. Michael McCormick and Ron Giess, Lakeside each estimated catch-and-releasing 20 bass each. They were using sinkos on the North end of the lake.

Catfish: Plenty of Catfish this week. Deon Jackson and Michael Baily were dangling hunks of mackerel in the 'narrows' to fool limits of cats. Mac Mitchel duped one with green power bait. And Ian Walgast reeled a 3lb-plus cat on night crawlers.

Blue Gill: The Gills are popping up all around the shoreline using small hooks and large meal worms. You may catch a few while rigged for crappie. Please remember the limit of 25 combined total of blue gill and crappie per licensed angler.

Crappie: The crappie have become a mystery to all of us. They seem to have gone as quickly as they came.

Carp: None reported this week but evidence of the discarded were found about the lake and fish cleaning house.
