Water Level: Low level, private water craft are currently banned.

In order to protect Wohlford from invasive exotic Quagga mussels, there is still a temporary ban on private water craft and equipment that could have been exposed to mussels. Restricted equipment includes private boats, canoes, kayaks, float tubes, trolling motors, fish finders, anchors, and other equipment that contacts the water.

Lake Wohlford is offering $20 all day motorboats to seniors on Tuesdays and to active military on the first and third Saturdays of each month.

Small to medium sized Bass are to be found around the various rock piles. The early mornings and evenings are the best times. Dark colored plastics work particularly well.

There are plenty of Catfish to be had throughout the lake. The Catfish respond well to chicken liver or cut mackerel. Stop by the ranger station for a dough bait recipe that works great on both Catfish and Carp.

The Crappie have been biting mostly in the first couple of hours after we open. The Crappie prefer the cover of submerged trees and rocks in which to hide. Live golden shiners and finger jigs are what they mostly bite on.
