Offshore fishing continues to be very good for 1 day and longer trips. Yellowtail catches are at or near limits, Bluefin Tuna from 30-80 pounds being caught and a few Dorado to spice up the mix. Yellowfin Tuna are also making there way into the 1.5 day catches.
Many captains are suggesting 40 pound line as a minimum with 50 and 60# at the ready when the larger Bluefin start showing.

The bluefin tuna and yellowtail bite is on the upswing for the overnight and multi day boats, with some of these fish pushing upwards of eighty pounds. Captain Ryan Bostian aboard the San Diego reported a warming in water temperature at the Coronado Islands and late in the day spotting lots of breezing yellowtail. Autumn may be around the corner but winter is a long ways away....... Read More
