Greetings from Lake Cuyamaca: With a?? Stocking last week from D.F.G.?? the trout inventory has been increased. Seeing very little action for trout with?? some activity early morning and late afternoon- evening.?? Crappie are providing great entertainment for anglers of all ages. Bring out the Family and let them catch fish. Use a small tube jig for this fun and tasty treat. ?? Bullhead catfish are very aggressive??in seeking out?? your night crawler on the bottom.

Trout Bait:30-36 inch leader off the bottom inflated night crawler smeared with scent, Power Bait,?? salmon eggs.??Night Crawler 12inches below a bobber.?? (Pautzkes Krill gel or liquid Krill scent)??????

Best Trout Lures: Gold/yellow-orange Panther Martins and Rainbow Rapala, Trolling. Use scent!?? (Krill gel works best)??

Best Trout Spots: Lone Pine, Shore line by dam buoy line.

Notable:?? Bill Mc Fariand, El Cajon, 13lbs 8oz Channel Cat, Mackerel, secret??spot. Alfredo Nunez, El Centro, 8lbs 9oz Channel Cat, Night Crawler, Handicap Pier. Steven Phillips,35 inch Sturgeon (released) Night Crawler, Buoys middle of Lake. (Lots of Limits of Crappie)

Fly Fishing: Emergers, Nymphs, and Elk Hair Caddis should produce something besides Crappie, which will take just about anything. Some fish feeding on surface early a.m. and late p.m.

Nature Walk: The guided walk will be conducted by Clint Powell Aug. 5, 2007.The trail is open for daily use. 3 1/2 miles around the lake.

Free Fishing Class Saturday at 10:AM:Ranger Willard?? will teach??tried and true trout techniques using?? bait, tube jigs and lures for Trout, Crappie and Bullheads.

Prognosis:!!???? The Channel Cats have been the action this past week and should continue. The trout catching may not improve so come up and catch some Crappie, use small tube jigs or meal worms. This is almost a sure thing. With the weather staying warm this week Crappie and Catfish will be filling the stringers.?? Its top water time for the large mouth bass.??
