The Lakes are open 7 days a week including Thanksgiving Day. 1,000 lbs. of Rainbow Trout will be stocked Friday. Report your catch to the Park Office. You may be eligible for the April 1st TV drawing.

Check out our lakefront campsites and Cabin rentals at www.santeelakes.com. Lakes 6 and 7 were recently stocked with Trout and are reserved for campers only.

Cody Lobel from San Diego caught two 3 lb. Trout using powerbait. One was fished out of lake 2 and the other from lake 4.

Recipe of the Week:
Smoked Trout Dip

Ingredients
• 1 pound boneless trout fillets, smoked
• 1/4 cup mayonnaise
• 2 tablespoons sour cream
• 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley
• 1 teaspoon seafood seasoning, such as Old Bay
• 1/2 teaspoon ground white pepper
• 2 tablespoons lemon juice
• 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives
• Crostini, for serving

Directions
With gloved hands, flake the fish into a bowl, removing the skin as you go. Add the mayonnaise, sour cream, parsley, seafood seasoning and pepper, and mix gently. Add the lemon juice and toss once again to mix. Plate in a terrine and sprinkle with the chopped chives as garnish. Serve with crostini.

** No California State Fishing License required to fish at Padre Dam's Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve.

Fishing Permit Fees
Adult (ages 16 and over) $9.00 per day
Junior (ages 7 to 15) $6.00 per day
Second fishing pole stamp $4.00

*One child under 7 may fish for free with a paid adult
