Fishing was slower this week. There was a tournament on the lake this past saturday and their numbers were mixed as well. Most of the fishermen think since the spawn is in full swing already we will see only smaller bass until the mid to early May time frame. The bass bite is smaller in size but going on. Most at the fishing pier were using shiners and going home with in a few hours after they caught their limits. Most of the fishermen were talking shiners.

Catfish Avg. Size: 6.11 lbs
Crappie Avg. Size: 1.22 lbs

Lower Otay Reservoir Fish Report
Lower Otay Reservoir2 Trout were caught Sunday on rentals, most caught crappie and bass and 1 catfish was caught. Everyone is using crappie shiners and medium shiners to catch the crappie and some are using the crappie nibbles and maybe a few crappie jigs. Everyone that was our this weekend were out to catch fish. The nice warm temperature was a welcome relief for the fishermen. High 80's were reported and the bite was proof of good fishing. ......
